yeah, so it has been over a year since i submitted a real piece of my artwork. holy crap, almost 2 years, 20 months and 15 days to be exact. Good Lordy it has been a long time coming.
anyway, this is my little take on the Apple iPod advertisments. i guess they are pretty popular eh. i was working on a single frame for my photo class project and my buddy suggested a Warhol Style mosaic using all of the colors, mostly because i couldnt decide which color i wanted to use.
give ol' mikey some lovin, you know you have been eagerly anticipating some work from him. and let me know which is your favorite color of if you think i should use the mosaic for my assignment.

iPod images are so overdone, and you didn't even make it creative-no movement, no sense of style, The whole image seems dead and dull.
Y'know, when you critisize someone for doing something "popular" that he had done well, don't expect people to like it when you do something "popular" and not even have it be creative.
Those who have no respect for others, get no respect from others. so shape up, bucko--if you want to really leave a critique instead of a flame, fine! But don't just go off on them, or that's all you'll get in return.

im not sure where the hostility is from, but this was done for a school project and it was supposed to lack the movement. it was done to show the popularity of the ipod commercials, and how people would still oogle over it because of the popularity of the style.
i took the picture for the silhouette while i was leaning against a wall. when have you ever seen someone in an ipod commercial lean against a wall? never. but when do you se a person listening to their ipod dancing around like a madman in real life? once again, never. you see people listeing to their ipods while at the bus stop waiting for their bus, you see them listeing to them in lines while waiting.
it may not have the sense of style and movement that ipod commercials have, but it has the reality in it that ipod USERS have. they may try to get you to think that just because you have an ipod in your hand and earphones in your head you will instantly become a dancing fiend, it isnt true, and if you did, you would be a laughing stock to those around you. you can come along and bash my piece, but what you fail to realize is though it may not be the best done piece, it has the substance and the message behind it.

I was trying to make a point, that when you bash someone's piece when it's really well done, and offer no support or even advice on how to make it better, you can expect the same in return. That's where it came from.

Although I do agree, the iPod ads are very overdone, this is interesting because the iPod is actually in the center. Isn't it that usually, in the ads, the iPod is sort of to the side? There's more focus on the person then the iPod itself.
Anyway, ads usually try to send a message, like if you have an iPod, you'll have fun! (etc. etc.) I kind of don't get the message here.. (I usually don't, so no surprise!) XD
